Having spent much of her childhood in the Southwest and on Navajo Indian reservations, ancient hieroglyphic art, Mexican patterns and Indian pottery have a strong influence on Natalie’s art. Generally working on functional pieces, her work strongly suggests a Southwest appeal.
Her earliest memories of pottery shine with bright colors and turquoise accents. Natalie generally works in stoneware which gives the user the every day benefit of strong useful pottery.
She has taken classes from Loie Daily, Henry Mead, Ed Osher, Duncan Gonzales along with workshops from Nan & Jim McKinnel and Robin Furuta. Her greatest influence was Bob LeDonne at workshops at the Colorado Potters Guild.
Teaching has been Natalie’s profession while she has “raised a big family for many years.” Bi-lingual education is also a great concern for her. You can reach Natalie at mamania23@msn.com.
