I found clay as my passion in high school and was fortunate to have a very gifted teacher, Mark Zamantakis. With the solid foundation I acquired through Mr. Z, I continued my ceramic studies with courses and workshops throughout the Denver area.
I am inspired by functional ceramics of different traditions as well as contemporary ceramics. My work is influenced by the contentment of an English tea set, the tradition of a ceremonial Japanese tea bowl, the bold statement of a North Carolina face jug. I find inspiration in the art that is remarkably perfect in nature.
My goal is to create forms that have aesthetic, artistic, and functional value. I strive to create forms that call upon one to touch and handle them.
